WBA heavyweight champion David Haye defends his title against mandatory John Ruiz on April 3 in Manchester, England. The challenger, a former two time WBA champion, wants to claim the title for a third time. A loss may send Ruiz into retirement. Ruiz feels good with a new trainer, a new promoter and a new chance to become the champ.
"I've never felt so calm and comfortable. I have a new trainer (Miguel Diaz), a new promoter (Golden Boy Promotions) and another chance to become world champion," Ruiz told Primera Hora.
Ruiz believes that he has the perfect style to beat Haye. He studied some tapes on Haye and plans to bring the fight to the champion. He thinks Haye is very vulnerable when he is made to fight.
"My style is perfect to beat Haye. You have to press him. I have to be aggressive," said Ruiz. "The most important thing is to make my fight. I've studied him a little and I know how to beat Haye."
