Vitali Klitschko: I Will Fight David Haye in England

20 Mar 2010 10:33       hits 13151 Print version

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is ready and willing to give WBA champion David Haye the homefield advantage. If Haye defeats mandatory John Ruiz on April 3, and Klitschko beats Albert Sosnowski on May 29, there could be some fireworks in England at the end of the year.

"If the fight with Haye comes through, I would be happy to fight in England. I am ready to fight in any part of the world," Klitschko told Gareth Davies of The Telegraph.

Klitschko gave his breakdown of the Haye vs. Ruiz bout. He doesn't think Haye is strong enough to score a knockout and he doesn't think Ruiz is fast enough to outhustle the quicker man. He predicts a decision win for Haye in a very tough fight.

“It will be a difficult fight for Haye,” said Vitali. “Ruiz is a good fighter, strong, who has a good punch. But Ruiz does not have the speed to stop Haye, and Haye does not have the power to knock out Ruiz. It will be a points decision for Haye."
