Former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine defeated former WBA interim 154lb champion Rigoberto Alvarez by unanimous decision to win the WBA interim super welterweight world title. Mundine (43-4, 25 KOs) took the initiative at all times to Alvarez (27-4, 20 KOs) in twelve rounds and won 114-113, 117-111, 117-111. Mundine, 36, must now fight for the title against undefeated WBA «regular» super welterweight world champion Austin Trout
