Adamek’s HBO Return: David Haye, Arreola Offered

10 Oct 2011 15:51       hits 5205 Print version

Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KOs) revealed that he's probably going to return to the ring in the month of March, likely in Poland, with no opponent set for the moment. Adamek is planning to continue his heavyweight. In September he was badly beaten and stopped in ten rounds by WBC heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschko.

HBO is interested in having Adamek back on the network in the second half of the year. According to Adamek, he was presented with two possible options for his second fight of 2012 - either former WBA champion David Haye (25-2, 23 KOs) or a rematch with Chris Arreola (33-2, 28 KOs), who Adamek decisioned in a very exciting fight in April 2010.

Haye's future is unknown. He might retire by the end of the year or he might continue his career. Adamek-Haye is a dream match of former cruiserweight kings who moved up in weight. Arreola has won five in a row since the loss to Adamek and he returns in Mexico on November 5th against Alonzo Butler.
