The former WBA world heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (27-2-1, 17 KOs) is planning to return before the end of the year. Two weeks ago in Germany, Chagaev suffered a twelve round unanimous decision loss to undefeated Alexander Povetkin. Chagaev took the fight after a long layoff and wants to stay very busy to sharpen his skills.

"Right now I have to talk with my promoter very soon, because I intend to have at least one more fight this year. It does not matter to me if its an eight or a ten round bout, I just want to box. I need the practice. And next year plan to climb in the rankings and re-qualify for a championship shot," said Chagaev to Championat.
