Morales turns 35, in great shape

Three-division world champion Erik Morales conducted an open workout training for the press on Wednesday at hi training camp at the Otomi Ceremonial Center in Toluca, Mexico State. ‘Terrible’ Morales showed good condition for his fight against Lucas Mathysse on September 17 for the vacant WBC light welterweight world championship at the Garden Arena MGM Grand Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. Morales was accompanied by his father and trainer Jose ‘Olivaritos’ Morales, Golden Boy Promotions vice president Eric Gomez, and GBP press chief Ramiro Gonzalez.

“It will be a good fight even if I’m going to bet against Mathysse,” said Erik. “Big fights for me are all important. I love this sport. It’s a show and I’m always prepared to give my best in every fight. I’m here because I still feel I have the power and condition to continue, but when my body tells me otherwise, I won’t hesitate to make the best decision. I want to win this fight and face the best available.”

Today Erik Morales turns 35 years of age and there is no doubt that he has been one of the great figures of all time in world boxing.
