Katsidis blows away Lozada

Former two-time lightweight champion Michael Katsidis (28-4, 23 KOs) scored a third round KO over Michael Lozada (38-9-1, 30 KOs) in a jr welterweight bout on Saturday at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia. In his first bout on Australian soil in five years Katsidis finished the show with a barrage of body punches. Time was 2:18. Katsidis now plans to campaign in the 140lb division.

In a huge upset on the undercard, journeyman featherweight Jack Asis (24-18-4, 13 KOs) scored a stunning second round TKO over highly regarded former world title challenger Nestor Rocha (23-3, 8 KOs). Rocha entered the fight rated at IBF #15 in the bantamweight division.
