Salido wins, Juanma next

WBO featherweight champion Orlando “Siri” Salido (36-11-2, 24 KOs) battered outgunned challenger Kenichi “Machine Gun” Yamaguchi (17-2-2, 4 KOs) until referee Roberto Ramírez Jr. stopped the one-sided fight in round eleven on Saturday night at the CUM in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico. Salido dropped Yamaguchi in round three and dominated all the way. Time was 2:50. Former champion Juan Manuel Lopez was in attendance cheering for Salido to win. They are expected to meet in a rematch this October.

Featherweight Enrique “Duende” Bernache (17-2, 8 KOs) scored a fourth round KO of Alejandro “Alex” Valdez (25-5-2, 19 KOs). Time was 2:59.

Super bantamweight Ruben Tamyao (17-2-2, 13 KOs) scored a second round TKO over Jorge Cardenas (16-13-4, 10 KOs). Tamayo seemed to be the beneficiary of an early stoppage at 2:24.
