Montiel makes Cermeno quit

Former world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel was victorious when Nehomar Cermeno decided not to go out for the third round after failing to recover from a left hook to the liver that floored him at the end of the previous round on Saturday night at the Estadio de futbol de los Dorados in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. Montiel moves to 45-3-2 with 35 KOs. Cermeno falls to 20-4, 12 KOs. It was “Kochulito’s” first fight since losing his bantamweight title to Nonito Donaire.
