The sweltering heat did not prevent the public from watching the final fight week training sessions of WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez, which took place at the Park End of Guadalajara. Alvarez impressed the hundreds of people with his lightning hand speed. This Saturday he defends the title against official challenger Ryan Rhodes, of England.

"It makes me happy to see so many people," said El Canelo. "I will show you that I am a true champion." Between cheers and shouts, Saul Alvarez had a session of mitts with his trainer Edison Reynoso. The training of the undefeated Mexican was brief, but very demonstrative of what awaits the southpaw Rhodes.

"I'll take the title home," said Rhodes.
