WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Dmitry Sartison (27-1, 17 KOs) can put his title at risk on August 20 in Donetsk, Ukraine. According to sources in Union Boxing Promotions, their protégé Stas Kashtanov (28-0, 15 KOs), who is ranked #4 by the WBA and #7 by the WBO, is next in line for the 31-year old German fighter. The fight isn’t done yet but both parties are moving forward with mutual negotiations.

Kashtanov, 26, is a capable boxer-puncher with a wicked left to the liver and a hard, crisp jab. Sartison acquired his title a year and a half ago against Croatian Stjepan Bozic. He defended it in July 2010 by outpointing Khoren Gevor over twelve rounds. The “Super” champion is Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KOs).

The fight will probably be a part of another mega-card, installed by Union Boxing. The show will feature a number of title bouts, including EBA and WBA I/C belts, and the next defense for WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (31-0, 20 KOs) versus Venezuelan Marco Antonio Avendano (30-7-1, 22 KOs).
