Eduard Gutknecht will challenge European light heavyweight champion Danny McIntosh in Neubrandenburg, Germany on May 7. In the main fight of the night, IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester will defend his title against mandatory challenger Daniel Geale. “I´m thrilled to be fighting for the European title in just my second fight for Team Sauerland,” Gutknecht said from his training camp base in Zinnowitz. “McIntosh is a strong fighter with a big heart. He won his title on the road, which shows that he can perform well under pressure. But I will defeat him and take the title.” Gutknecht (20-1, 8 KOs) joined Team Sauerland at the beginning of the year. McIntosh (13-1, 7 KOs) clinched the title on January 22 when he stopped Thierry Karl in France.
