Unbeaten French-Cameroonian Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (25-0, 17 KOs) will defend his WBA "interim" belt against Dominican middleweight Giovanni Lorenzo on April 2nd at the Palestra in front of the Direct 8 cameras. The talented student of Mouss Ouicher was awarded the title last October in Paris at the end of a difficult battle against Advantil Khurtsidze. And Lorenzo does not appear as an easy rival either. Hassan looks forward to this fight, as observers will compare his showcase against the ring performances that Lorenzo had with the German champions, Felix Sturm and Sebastian Sylvester.

BoxingScene.com went to meet with the WBA champion to collect his last impressions just a few days before this looming battle.

BoxingScene.com: What is your state of mind before the fight?

I am serene and confident. I worked hard and I'm in great shape. I want to reap the fruits of my labor.

BoxingScene.com: What did you do after your last fight?

I rested by having a complete break before preparing at Bazeilles.

BoxingScene.com: What message would you want to send to critics who say that you lost your last fight?

These are people who know nothing about boxing and came with the intention of seeing me lose. Unfortunately, this was not the case and it never will be. I will prove to everyone that I'm a world class boxer by winning all the belts. To be honest , I do not want to dwell on those critics who I'm paying no mind to. These journalists have no expertise in boxing and had undermined the belt, deserve no attention from me.

BoxingScene.com: Unlike your last fight , you got real sparring , this time...

The latest camp has gone very well and I could work several tactical schemes with partners with similar characteristics, both physically and technically, as Lorenzo. Also, I'm in constant progress and I don't think I have reached my limits yet. I hope that Lorenzo is ready for me as I'm ready for him. I know it's a very good adversary but I am confident and well trained. However, my goal remains to face Sturm.

BoxingScene.com: What do you know about Lorenzo ?

I know it's a constant fighter, strong and very confident. I chose him knowingly, nobody had imposed him on me. Also, I have no doubt about the outcome of the fight because I am prepared to win. My goal goes far beyond this fight. Even if there is difficulty here, I am prepared to go much further.

BoxingScene.com: What do you dread most about him?

Nothing..

BoxingScene.com: What do you think about the WBA situation with the three champions at 160-pounds?

The only credible title is Super Champion. The rest are irrelevant, those are just steps to be taken. I will go for the belt owned by Sturm. This is my goal. I want and I will have it. He has, moreover, all of my respect.

BoxingScene.com: what are your plans for 2011?

First of all, confront Sturm and take his belt, and then compete against other boxers who hold titles. The fight against Lorenzo is, for me, is the last fight before going for a credible belt. My final goal is to get the titles of all the federations.

BoxingScene.com: Has your life changed since your last fight?

Not at all. The title hasn't been won from Sturm yet. That was just a step towards that goal.

BoxingScene.com: Do people recognize you in the street ?

Yes, they recognize me ask me especially for autographs and pictures.

BoxingScene.com: A word about the fight between Marie-Sainte and Belghecham ..

These are two warriors who have proven themselves. Belghecham demonstrated very good fighting skills and Sainte-Marie has also been very deserving and constantly growing. These are two true champions to whom I wish lot of success.

BoxingScene.com: Do you think Mormeck can become champion at heavyweight?

Yes he can, because he has great qualities. In boxing, such as in the golden years, focusing on your preparation will make things possible. In fact, Moussa and I often discuss whether or not he has the means to succeed.

BoxingScene.com: What would you like to say to the BoxingScene fans?

I know that website is the most viewed and requested in the world. I urge the fans to continue in this direction. Concerning me, I hope that I will give them what they want and always keep them satisfied in the future.
