Piotr Wilczewski (29-1, 10 KOs) scored an eleventh round TKO over hometown favorite Amin Asikainen (28-4, 19 KOs) on Friday night to claim the European super middleweight title at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. The bout was also for the WBO-Intercontinental belt.
Unbeaten light welterweight Denis Shafikov (26-0-1, 15 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Nugzar Margvelashvili (18-10, 7 KOs). Margvelashvili took an eight-count in round four after a body punch punch from the southpaw Shafikov, who pretty much did what he wanted to do.
Light welterweight Edis Tatli (14-0, 3 KOs) outpointed Stuart Green (15-11) over eight by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72.
Cruiserweight Juho Haapoja (14-2-1, 10 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Mantas Tarvydas (17-10, 11 KOs)
Featherweight Andreas Evensen (14-2, 6 KOs) stopped Yordan Vasilev (9-21-2, 1 KO) in round three. The fight was stopped after Evensen dropped Vasilev for the third time. Evensen is a former world title challenger.
Super featherweight Eva Wahlstrom (5-0, 2 KOs) won a six-rounder over Kristine Shergold (4-5, 1 KO). Shergold took an 8-count in round four after a hard short right to the head. Shergold was very strong and landed very good body shots every round, but Eva was better and hit harder. Scores were 59-55, 58-56 and 58-56.
Welterweight Jussi Koivula (8-0, 3 KOs) topped Konstantins Sakara (7-18-1, 6 KOs) over six by scores of 60-54, 60-56 and 59-55.
