The Palms Resort and Casino, Las Vegas - Saturday's grueling lightweight bout left both of the involved boxers with some visible scars of war. Brandon Rios (27-0, 20KOs)captured the WBA lightweight title with a tenth round knockout of Miguel Acosta (28-4).

Rios advised BoxingScene.com that he broke his right hand in the contest. After the fight was over, Acosta was taken to the back, put on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital. His face was swollen and he was badly hurt as the paramedics took him away.

"He stung me a few times. He was strong. In that one round [when he stopped punching], he hurt me with a body shot. I've been hurt with a body shot before. I was dropped twice before with body shots. He hurt me to the body but I knew that I would get him," Rios told BoxingScene.com.
