According to boxing manager Cameron Dunkin, former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32KOs) is scheduled to leave rehab on Tuesday. Pavlik has been in the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California since November. He entered the clinic to get help for his abuse of alcohol.

Pavlik has not fought since his twelve round decision loss to Sergio Martinez on April 17 in Atlantic City. Pavlik entered into that fight about ten days after being released from from a two week stint at the same clinic.

Pavlik, 28-years-old, does want to continue his career, but no word on the exact weight for his return. He was going to fight at super middleweight after having issues with making the middleweight limit. After thinking it over, Dunkin told BoxingScene.com a few months ago that Pavlik was planning to remain at middleweight.

He was scheduled to face Brian Vera on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito undercard on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium. He withdrew to get treatment for his problem. A smart move because a loss to Vera would have dropped his stock to a near unrecoverable level.
