Former unified WBC/WBA champion Cristian Mijares (41-6-2, 18 KOs) can add the IBF hardware to his collection. Mijares dethroned IBF super flyweight champion Alberto ‘Topo’ Rosas (32-6, 26 KOs) by twelve round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Auditorio Municipal in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. It was a close fight, with Mijares more accurate punching making the difference. Scores were 115-113, 116-113 and 117-113.
Lightweights Luis “Vampiro” Arceo (23-10-3, 15 KOs) and Mario “Pocho” Perez (12-1-1, 9 KOs) battled to an eight round majority draw. Scores were 78-74 Arceo and 77-77, 76-76. Fightnews.com also scored it 78-74 for Arceo.
