Middleweight Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (25-0, 17 KOs) won a controversial twelve round unanimous decision over Avtandil Khurtsidze (22-2-2, 13 KOs) on Saturday to claim the WBA interim middleweight title at the Palais des Sports Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. The scores were 115-114 (twice) and 117-111. The Fight was very exciting for the fans due to Avtandil’s aggression. He punished, rocked and bloodied N’Jikam but couldn’t get the KO. Hassan’s best rounds were late, but even his hometown fans booed when the decision was announced. Fightnews.com scored it 116-112 for Khurtsidze.
On the undercard, WBA interim cruiserweight champ Steve Herelius (21-1-1, 12 KOs) outpointed Roman Kracik (31-5-1, 17 KOs) over eight in a non-title affair.
