Miranda retains WBO belt

WBO flyweight world champion Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda (34-5-1, 27 KOs) scored a brutal second round knockout over Michael Arango (31-10-3, 25 KOs) on Saturday night at the Estadio de Beisbol in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Referee Russel Mora stopped the bout at 1:30 of the second round to protect Arango from further punishment.

In the co-feature, middleweight Michel Rosales (30-3, 25 KOs) beat down Octavio Castro (14-6-1, 9 KOs) with a barrage of punches forcing referee Hernandez to stop the bout at 1:40 of round four.
