Middleweight contender Giovanni Lorenzo is spending the scorching hot summer days training in New York City with one goal in mind, crushing WBA champion Felix Sturm on Saturday, September 4th in Cologne, Germany.

Said Lorenzo: “My preparation has been going great; I am in the best shape of my career, physically and mentally. I am so hungry to prove that I am the best middleweight in the world.”

“Sturm has always been protected by Universum and ducked fights against tough middleweights like myself, now the world will see him getting destroyed, I am certain he will not be able to hold my shots for more than six rounds. I will break him down and crush him.”

The 29 year old Lorenzo, 29-2-1 (21KO’s), previously traveled to Germany in September 2009, challenging Sebastian Sylvester for the IBF Middleweight Title, losing a very close, controversial, split decision.

Continued Lorenzo, “I am the uncrowned champion at 160, since I was robbed in Germany last time. This time I will not leave it in the hands of the judges. I can’t wait for September 4th to come; I will be the new WBA champion of the world.”

Sturm, 33-2-1 (14KO’s), won the WBA title from Javier Castillejo in April 2007 and has defended it seven times, most recently winning a unanimous decision over Khoren Gevor on July 11, 2009 by unanimous decision.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Lorenzo is promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions and managed by Kurt Emhoff and Rich Ryan.
