Another good performance by NABA/NABO welterweight champion Mike Jones (22-0, 18 KOs), who scored a fifth round KO over Irving Garcia (17-5-3, 8 KOs) on Friday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was actually a low blow that dropped Garcia, but referee Randy Neumann missed it. Time was 1:22. Jones is ranked among the Top 10 welterweights by all four major world sanctioning bodies in one of boxing’s deepest divisions: #2 by the WBO, #3 by the WBA; #7 by the IBF and the WBC.
