Former WBA jr welter champ Souleymane M’baye (39-3-1, 21 KOs) won the vacant WBA interim welterweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Antonin Decarie (23-1, 7 KOs) on Friday night at the Palais des Sport Marcel Cerdan in Paris, France. Scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 116-113. M’Baye dropped Decarie in round four. Nice win for the personable 35-year-old Levallois fighter M’Baye, who relinquished his European 140lb title to fight for the world belt in a higher weight division.
