In a very one-sided bout, unbeaten WBO junior middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (36-0, 24 KOs) scored a tenth round TKO over late sub Daniel Dawson (34-2, 24 KOs) on Friday night at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California. Making his US debut, southpaw Dzinziruk demonstrated a stiff jab that dictated the pace. He didn’t look like a fighter who had been out of action for 18 months, as he never let Dawson into the fight. The mismatch was waved off by referee Jose Cobian to save Dawson from further punishment at 2:12 of the tenth.

Unbeaten welterweight prospect Vernon Paris (21-0, 14 KOs) had all he could handle in winning an eight round split decision over rugged late sub Juan Santiago (12-4-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 76-75, 76-75 for Paris, 77-74 for Paris. Referee David Mendoza took a point from Paris for a low blow in round one.
—–
Welterweight Michael Anderson (6-0-1, 4 KO’s) wasted no time in attacking and eventually stopping Joshua Rodriguez in the first round of a scheduled four round bout. Rodriguez (2-5, 1 KO) did not go down, but was hurt by a right cross that prompted referee John Schorle to stop the bout at 1:12.
—–
Unbeaten cruiserweight Lateef Kayode (12-0, 11 KOs) scored a second round KO over Jose Luis Herrera (16-7, 16 KOs). A big right hand did in Herrera. Time was 2:02.
—–
Unbeaten welterweight Dean Byrne (12-0, 5 KOs) scored a fifth round stoppage of Justo Sanchez (17-25, 10 KOs). No knockdowns. Time was 2:18.
—–
Super featherweight Gabriel Tolmajyan (9-1, 3 KOs) won a four-rounder over John Wampash (1-4-1, 0 KOs), 40-36 on all cards.
—–
Junior featherweight Luis Rosa (2-0, 1 KO) dropped Jairo Delgado (3-6, 3 KOs) in round two and went on to a 40-35 win on all cards.
