WBO Super Flyweight world champion Jorge Arce (53-6-1, 40 KOs) of nearby Los Mochis, Sinaloa, scored a seventh round KO of two-time world title challenger Cecilio Santos (24-13-3, 14 KOs) of Mexico City in a non-title bantamweight fight on Saturday night at the Multi Use Center in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. An Arce barrage dropped Santos for the count. Time was :58. Arce will now challenge WBO bantamweight champion Eric Morel on the June 26 “Latin Fury” card at the Alamodone in San Antonio.

Featherweight Jocksan Hernandez (18-2, 11 KOs) overcame two first round knockdowns to KO previously undefeated IBF #11 featherweight Miguel “Barreterito” Beltran (22-1, 15 KOs) in the tenth round. After barely surviving a rocky round one, Hernandez came on strong, launching a furious attack in round ten and battering Beltran to the deck where he was counted out by referee Juan Jose Ramirez at the 2:08 mark.
