EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW by G. Leon

GL: It's always a pleasure to get a phone call from Jeff Lacy. To what do we owe the honor of this call?

"I just want to extend my challenge to Jesse Brinkley. He looked good in his win in the elimination fight against Curtis Stevens. I want to extend a challenge out to him and see if he wants to put it all on the line. I want to get some revenge back because he beat up my boy Joey Gilbert and I want to get revenge."

GL: How does a fight between you and Brinkley play out?

Jeff Lacy: "I seriously think Brinkley is a very good fighter. I've always wanted to fight the best. I always fight the best out there and I make exciting fights. That's what I'm looking to do in his hometown. I would want to make the fight happen in his hometown."

GL: What's the earliest we can expect you in the ring whether it's Brinkley or somebody else?

JL: "Have them sign on the dotted line and I can fight Brinkley with six to eight weeks to get ready. If not Brinkley, I want to get back in the ring by the middle of the summer. I will be back in the ring shortly either way."

GL: Closing thoughts?

JL: "I"m not the type of person to do a lot of talking. I've been doing some extra things that I feel I needed to do following that Roy Jones fight. And I think I've done my homework and done some of the things necessary for to do with my left shoulder, so it's on and popping now."
