Morales is back with win

In a crowd-pleasing fight, three division world champion and Mexican ring legend Erik Morales (49-6, 34 KOs) returned as a welterweight on Saturday night following a two-and-a-half year layoff to trade punches with former lightweight titleholder Jose Alfaro (23-6, 20 KOs) on Saturday night at the in Monterrey, Mexico. It was a brutal battle from the opening bell, with both fighters giving and taking a lot of punches as Morales showed the old fire that made him loved by fight fans around the world. In the end, Morales claimed a 117-111, 116-112, 116-112 decision.

In a WBA light heavyweight eliminator Chris Henry (25-2, 20 KOs) scored a first round knockout over Hugo Hernan Garay (32-5, 17 KOs). A right hand put Garay down and out at 2:20.

Unbeaten heavyweight prospect David “Niño” Rodriguez (33-0, 31 KOs) destroyed Daniel Bispo (22-13, 16 KOs) dropping him in round one and again in round two before the bout was waved off by referee Jon Schorle at 1:50 of round two.

Unbeaten super featherweight Alex Sanabria (26-0, 19 KOs) took out Adrian Olivera (16-7-2, 10 KOs) with a body shot in round two. Time was 2:45.

Middleweight Abraham Han (9-0, 8 KOs) needed exactly 60 seconds to demolish Ulises Duarte (19-16, 17 KOs).

Flyweight Ivan Morales (5-0, 4 KOs) won a four rounder over Eduardo Hernandez (1-1, 1 KO) by scores of 40-36, 40-36, 39-37. Morales is the younger brother of Erik Morales.
