In an IBF jr middleweight eliminator, Sechew Powell (26-2, 15 KOs) won a twelve round majority decision over Deandre Latimore (25-3, 15 KOs) on Friday night at the Choctow Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. Powell outboxed the harder punching Latimore, busting up Latimore’s right eye in the process. Scores were 117-111, 116-112 Powell, 114-114. With the win, Powell avenges a 2008 TKO loss to Latimore that cost Powell his #1 rating at the time.
