17 Mar 2010 15:14       hits 5391 Print version

French heavyweight Jean Marc Mormeck continues his comeback May 6 with a fight at the Carpentier Hall in Paris. Opponent is said to be Fres Oquendo. Mormeck, a former WBA and WBC cruiser champ, returned to action late last year.

Russian cruiser Alexander Alexeev calls out for WBO champ Marco Huck. Alexeev is number two in the ratings and promoted by Universum. He´s an exellent boxer, in some ways leagues above the crude Huck. But Huck beat strong Argentinian Victor Emilio Ramirez while Alexeev was stopped by the asame Ramirez in a big upset. All in all, it would be an interesting fight to watch.

Pugnus Promotion in Sweden will apply for special permission to do one fight over eight three minute rounds, perhaps with heavyweight Attila Levin and a fight over ten two minute rounds where they will try to feature Anna Ingman and Mikaela Lauren. Pugnus have the full support from the Swedish Federation but it´s the Martial Arts Delegation that have the final say but there are whispers that there will be a positive outcome. At the same time a general permission for proboxing in Sweden under international rules is said to impossible.

Puerto Rican Wilfredo Vazquez defends the WBO super bantamweight title May 29 in San Juan, writes elnuevodia.com. Opponent according to the paper Hungarian Zsolt Bedak, currently the WBO European champion, and promoted by Universum.

German promoter Ulf Steinforth and his SES celebrates 10 year in business March 16. SES have over the years promoted mainly around in what used to be East Germany and while there´s been ups and downs the team stands strong with IBF welter champ Jan Zaveck, WBO super middleweight ruler Robert Stieglitz, female queen Natascha Ragosina and Czech veteran Lukas Konecny as main stars.

French featherweight Cyril Thomas take on Justin Savi April 15 in St Quention. At stake is the all new WBC invention: the Silver title. Well, it´s not very new at all, just the interim title changing name.

German supermiddle Lukas Wilaschek have been forced to retire due to a detached retina. Wilaschek´s last fight was in December of 08 when lost a split decision to Robert Stieglitz. Lukas goes out at 22-1.
