According to local sources, WBO #11 ranked Sherzod Husanov (14-0-1, 7 KOs) may be next-in-line to collide with Ukrainian WBO light middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (36-0, 22 KOs). The proposed fight would take place on May 14 at Chumash Resort & Casino in Santa Ynez, California. Undefeated Dzinziruk, 33, who has recently signed a co-promotional deal with Gary Shaw Productions and Banner Promotions, last fought in November 2008, outpointing Columbian Joel Jair Julio. It was his fifth defense of the title he had won against formidable Daniel Santos in December 2005. Former Uzbek Olympian Husanov, 29, debuted in 2007. He is best known for a win and a draw against Russian Timur Nergadze last year.
