Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar (11-0, 8 KOs) of Argentina spectacularly stopped countryman Lucas Rafael Baez (6-3, 4 KOs) in round one of their super featherweight clash on Saturday night at the Asociación Española Tiro y Deportiva Jorge Ross, La Carlota, Cordoba, Argentina. There was absolutely no warmup or feeling out process in this bout. Baez from the moment the bell ring went after the unbeaten Cullar, winging lefts and rights managing to connect on a few. Cuellar returned fire but was much more accurate, rocking Baez with power lefts and rights and dropping him within the first minute of the bout. Baez picked himself up and appeared OK, but moments later found himself down again from the same series of punches that dropped him previously. When Baez got to his feet this time he was very wobbly. Cuellar wasted no time attacking with a serious of punches punctuated with a devastating left hook that had Baez out on his feet before crashing to the canvas where the referee waved the bout off immediately without a count. Mario Margossian promoted the show.
