IBO super middleweight champion Sakio “The Scorpion” Bika (28-3-2,19KO’s) has issued a challenge to IBO cruiserweight champion Danny “The Green Machine” Green (28-3, 25 KOs), saying you don’t have to bring 44-year-old Bernard Hopkins to Australia when one of the best 168 pounders in the world lives in Sydney, NSW, Australia and is ready to fight. “I want the boxing public and in particular the Australian public to know that I want to fight Danny Green,” said Bika.

“If he wants to fight the best opposition then I am willing to fight. It will be a huge fight in Australia and since Bernard Hopkins is now fighting Roy Jones I am ready to step in and fight Danny. We are IBO champions and we can meet at light heavyweight. I’m very confident of defeating Danny Green in the ring and the Australian public deserves a big fight like this. I look forward to hearing a response from Danny Green’s Team.”

Bika captured the IBO 168 title in 2008 with a three round stoppage of Peter Manfredo. In 2007 Bika became the Contender Series Champion with a eight round stoppage of Jaidon Codrington in one of the best fights for that year. He lost to current IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute in 2007 and Joe Calzaghe in a IBF/WBO super middleweight challenge in 2006 in one of the Welshman’s toughest fights.

Bika was released recently from contract that the Contender Series had with him and he’s now with the respected Al Heymon, who also manages Floyd Mayweather.
