Johnson TKOs Mack in 6th

In an IBF light heavyweight eliminator, 41-year-old former world champion and current #3 rated Glen Johnson (50-13-2, 34 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over #7 rated Yusaf Mack (28-3-2, 17 KOs) on Friday night at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The aggressive Johnson steadily broke down Mack, finally dropping him three times in round six before referee Frank Gentile waved it off. Time was 2:21. Johnson is now in line for a shot at IBF world champion Tavoris Cloud.

Unbeaten two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (5-0, 4 KOs) needed just 28 seconds to demolish Adolfo Landeros (20-13-1, 9 KOs) in a super bantamweight bout. A left hand to the body put Landeros down for several minutes.

Welterweight Ed Paredes (23-3-1, 15 KOs) scored a spectacular second round KO over previously unbeaten Joey Hernandez (15-1-1, 8 KOs). Paredes leveled Hernandez for the count with a left hook at the 1:53 mark. They previously fought to a draw last August.

2004 Olympic silver medalist Yudel Jhonson (5-0, 3 KOs) scored a first round TKO over comebacking Dorian Beaupierre (12-6-2, 6 KOs) in a junior middleweight bout. After Jhonson dropped Beaupierre in round one the bout was waved off shortly after. Time was 2:18.
