In an IBF middleweight eliminator, former jr middleweight champion and current #3 rated Roman Karmazin (40-3-1, 26 KOs) won by spectacular come-from-behind knockout over #9 Dionisio Miranda (20-5-2, 18 KOs) on Friday night at the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, California. The heavy-hitting Miranda rocked Karmazin in round three but couldn’t follow up. Karmazin recovered and boxed well, but was dropped hard with a Miranda right hand in round nine. Seemingly in trouble, Karmazin stormed back to drop Miranda twice in round ten to win by KO. Time was 2:34. Karmazin is now in line for a shot against IBF middleweight world champion Sebastian Sylvester.

In the walkout bout of the evening, former world title challenger Jose ‘Shibata’ Flores (44-10, 26 KO’s) stopped veteran Roberto Valenzuela after the second round of a scheduled six round bout. It had been seven years since Flores, who is also a recording artist, had stepped inside the ring. Flores looked rusty as he outboxed the overmatched Valenzuela (51-49-2, 42 KO’s). The ringside physician advised referee Dr. Lou Moret to stop the bout after Valenzuela suffered cuts over his eyes.

Heavyweight prospect Andrey Fedosov (20-1, 16 KOs) scored an impressive second round KO over 42-year-old Lionel Butler (32-15-1, 25 KOs). Fedosev dropped Butler twice in round two before the bout was waved off. Time was 2:37.

Light heavyweight Anatoliy Dudchenko (7-2, 5 KOs) took a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Isaac Atencio (2-2-1, 2 KOs). Dudchenko dropped Atencio in rounds one, two and five en route to a 60-51 win on all cards.

In a battle of heavyweights making their professional debuts, Chris Davis knocked out Netzahyuaic Wilson in the first round of a scheduled four round bout. The taller and stronger Davis dropped the overmatched Wilson twice, the final time with a right hand to the head. Referee James Jen-Kin counted Wilson out at 2:58.
