Presser in Zaporizhia: Baysangurov to face Frank Shabani

At the presser in Zaporizhia dedicated to the upcoming huge boxing tournament «World Boxing in Zaporizhia. Champions league» Baysangurov’s foe was finally named. On December 19th in local Sport Palace «Yunost» Zaurbek Baysangurov (22-1, 16 KOs) will defend his WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight title in a clash against Frank Shabani (18-1-0, 6 ÊÎs).

Alexander Krasyuk, General Manager of «K2 East Promotions» was the first to take the floor and to introduce the fights and the fighters of «World Boxing in Zaporizhia. Champions league» fight card. Mr. Krasyuk pointed out that the upcoming boxing evening got the identifier «Champions league» not without reason – it will gather one of the strongest squad of participants in «K2 East Promotions» tournaments this year.

The Baysangurov vs. Shabani bout will headline fight card which will be held in Zaporizhia by «K2 East Promotions» promotional company of Klitschko brothers and with the support of world famous brand «Nemiroff» and «Inter» media-group.

Baysangurov, a Kyiv based Russian who fights under banners of «K2 East Promotions» promotional company of Klitschko brothers is one of the most popular and spectacular fighters. Bout in Zaporizhia will be his fourth fight this year. His opponent Frank Shabani lives and trains in Berlin, he fights under banners of «Sauerland Event», one of the most powerful promotional companies in the world. Shabani is 27, height 5′ 8½″, orthodox stance. During his boxing career Frank never was either kayoed or even dropped.

In his last fight on November 13th he clashed against Antal Kubicsek from Hungary and won an eight-rounder by points

On the evening of the same day more popular fighters of «K2 East Promotions» will step into the ring too with Vitaliy Rusal (24-1, 17 KOs) and Dmitrij Nikulin (19-0-0, 5 ÊÎ) headlining the undercard.

Rusal, former IBO International Boxing Organization Inter-Continental cruiserweight champion will fight in an eight-rounder against Mikhail Krinitsin (9-1-1, 5 ÊÎs) from Kazakhstan. That will be the second Rusal’s bout in the light heavyweight weight class after he moved down from cruiserweight division. Rusal’s fight is expected to be the «specialty of the house» for boxing fans from Zaporizhia since Vitaliy was born in that city and is extremely popular there.

25-year-old Dmitrij Nikulin, a hot prospect from Melitopol will make his first attempt at winning a title – Nikulin will fight for the vacant WBO European light middleweight title against Abdulaziz Matazimov (9-3-0, 3 ÊÎ)s, a solid Uzbek fighter.
