IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green claims to have a super punch up his sleeve and plans to use it against Roy Jones Jr. on Wednesday when they face off at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. If he manages to land that punch, he says Jones will get knocked out cold for a week. He doesn't think Jones' chin will be able to take the punches.
"I won't name which punch, but there's one punch, if I hit him clean with it, he is going to be knocked out for a week," Green told AAP. "His speed can baffle me, but my power - it can hospitalise someone. My fists are like bricks."
Green's trainer Angelo Hyder said his fighter needs to control the pace from the first round and not allow Jones to fight his fight.
"You can't let Roy Jones fight his fight... if you want to beat Roy Jones, you've got to go in there and take it from him. The biggest reward is if he defeats Roy Jones, he will be remembered forever," Hyder said.
Green's close friend, WBA/WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan, says Danny needs to win every round and not focus on the knockout.
"Everyone says, because Roy Jones is very speedy and skillful, Danny has to knock him out to win - no, Danny has to win every round," said Darchinyan.
