The 6’1” Funeka appeared to have won the vacant IBF lightweight title behind his jab, outlanding Guzman 142-32. Funeka had a 248-163 edge in total punches landed (and 903-493 in punches thrown), rocking Guzman on several occasions down the stretch. Funeka out-threw and out-landed Guzman in every round after the second. Two Canadian-based judges scored the fight a draw.
