Another huge boxing tournament will be held «K2 East Promotions», promotional company of Klitschko brothers in Cherkassy Sport Palace «Budivelnik» on November 20th. The fight card is organized with the support of world famous brand «Nemiroff» and «Inter» media-group.
The presser dedicated to the upcoming event which will be the 3rd altogether this year in Cherkassy was held in this beautiful city in the center of Ukraine.
Alexander Krasyuk, General Manager of «K2 East Promotions» was the first to take the floor: «Cherkassy is my home town and I am pleased very much that we again will hold an important boxing event there. The fight card will be headlined by Avtandil Khurtsidze (19-1-2, 12 ÊÎs), one of the best fighters of «K2 East Promotions». The upcoming fight will be the fourth defense of Avtandil’s WBA Inter-Continental middleweight belt which glorious Georgian fighter won in July of 2008. As all of you remember, last March Khurtsidze also fought in Cherkassy and successfully defended his title in the clash against Attila Kovacs. This time Avtandil will face 33-year-old Kuvanych Toygonbaev (29-5, 18 KOs) from Uzbekistan. The clash against Toygonbaev will be the most serious test so far for Avtandil.
At the moment Khurtsidze is #4 in WBA rankings and in case he is successful against Kuvanych Toygonbaev he will take a decisive step towards an eliminator fight for WBA world championship».
Toygonbaev is a representative of the so-called Andizhan boxing school which gave the boxing world such well-known fighters as Ruslan Chagaev, former WBA world heavyweight champion and Muhammad Abdullaev, former WBO light welterweight title challenger.
On November 20th on the undercard of «World Boxing time in Cherkassy» Yuri Nuzhnenko (29-1-1, 14 KOs), former WBA World welterweight champion and leading boxer of «K2 East Promotions» will step into the squared circle too. His foe will be named soon. For Nuzhnenko the upcoming fight will be an important part of his training for clash against one of the most famous Italian fighters and former EBU (European) light welterweight champion Gianluca Branco (43-2-1, 22 ÊÎs). At the end of January Nuzhnenko and Branco will fight in Italy for vacant EBU (European) welterweight title.
