Diaz-Malignaggi 2 in Chicago

The rematch between junior welterweights Juan Diaz and Paulie Malignaggi will occur on December 12 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois, Fightnews has learned. The site in Chicago beat out two other potential venues in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight, a rematch of a controversial decision win by Diaz in August, will be a 50-50 co-promotion between Lou DiBella (Malignaggi’s promoter) and Golden Boy Promotions (Diaz’ promoter). A press conference will likely be held next week to officially announce the fight.
