Juanma responds to Caballero

11 Aug 2009 10:30       hits 2110 Print version

IBF/WBA super bantamweight champion Celestino Caballero (32-2, 22 KOs) has been recently calling out WBO junior featherweight champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez (26-0, 23 KOs). In recent weeks Caballero has elevated his attacks on Lopez, saying today that while Wilfredo Benitez, Miguel Cotto and Felix Trinidad “wear their pants,” Lopez “walks around in a skirt.” Juanma responded today at a press conference in Puerto Rico. “Everybody knows that I don´t avoid any challenges,” he stated. “My promoters Top Rank and PR Best Boxing along with my manager Orlando Piñero make the decisions on who I fight. Right now I’m training really hard for my next fight which will be on October 10th in New York. I will say this. If the time comes where Caballero and I do fight, he better come prepared because he won’t make it past the eighth round with me.”
