IBO super middleweight champion Sakio Bika (28-3-2, 19 KOs) blasted out Nestor Casanova (22-16, 10 KOs) of Argentina in round one at the Orion Function Center, Campsie, NSW, Australia Thursday. Bika connected with a solid right hands to drop the import twice and the referee Gary Dean crowned the Australian based Cameroon boxer. Bika said, “I want to fight Anthony Mundine. Also the winner of the Lucian Bute and Librado Andrade IBF super middleweight title bout.” Bika is rated IBF#5 and will be in line to fight elimination bout for the number one position after the Bute vs Andrade IBF title bout.

Bika gave Joe Calzaghe one of his toughest fights in 2006 losing a points decision in twelve hard fought rounds. He lost to Lucian Bute in 2007 but the same year captured the Contender Series. In 2008 he stopped Peter Manfredo in three rounds to win the IBO 168 pound title. He is trained by David Birchell and managed by Contenders Series Jeff Wald until 2011.

Australian 140 pound champion Solomon Egberime (20-2, 10 KOs) scored a clear cut victory over the game Bobby Antonakos (11-3-1, 3 KOs) over ten rounds. The Australian based Nigerian Egberime dominated Antonakos in most of the rounds as he consistently connected with accurate combinations to the head and body of his opponent. Egberime had a point deducted by referee Charlie Lucas in round six for a low blow.. Antonakos had his best rounds in round six, seven and ten. At the conclusion scores were Gary Dean 99-92, Pat O’Connor 97-92 and Trevor Christian 99-91.

Australian 154 pound champion King Davidson (10-0, 6 KOs) scored a second round stoppage over Indonesian Aswin Cabuy (11-9-1, 4 KOs) . Cabuy was down from a left hand and signalled to his corner that he did not want to continue. Cabuy hold a victory over WBO#15 rated Samuel Colomban

Davidson is trained by Johnny Lewis who also trained world champions Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu and Jeff Harding. He has predicted that Davidson will be his next world champion. Davidson is managed by former Australian flyweight champion Peter Mitrevski Sr. “The King will be a world champion I am sure. He has a great trainer in Johnny Lewis and also has the skills and power to go all the way to the top”Davidson’s best win to date was over former Australian middleweight champion Josh Clenshaw, who extended world rated junior middleweights Kevin Kelly, Nader Hamdan and Daniel Dawson. Davidson, formerly of Nigeria, held the all-African amateur championship .

Big punching super middleweight Zac Awad (12-0-1, 6 KOs) was lucky to salvage a draw against Shane McConville (2-0-4) in action bout over six rounds. The 6.3″ McConville outworked the 6.’0 Awad at long range and also on the inside in most of the rounds. Scores were 58-57 (Awad), 56-59(McConville) and 58-58
