WBC #2 welterweight “Mini-Tyson” Selcuk Aydin (19-0, 15 KOs) scores a ninth round KO over #3 “Sugar” Jackson Bonsu (30-3, 23 KOs) in a bout for the European championship as well as a WBC final eliminator for the right to face WBC welterweight world champion Andre Berto, on Saturday night at the Besiktas Cola Turka Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. Bonsu was down in round four after a liver shot and subsequent combination. Bonsu was down again in rounds six and nine before the bout was stopped in the ninth.

Longtime contender Gianluca Branco (43-2-1, 22 KOs) outpointed journeyman Janos Petrovics (16-27, 8 KOs) in a welterweight six-rounder. Branco has now won seven straight since coming up short in a world title bid against Miguel Cotto.

Yuri Nuzhnenko will fight for EBU belt!

Turkish fighter Selcuk Aydin (19-0-0, 15 ÊÎs) has recently vacated his EBU (European) welterweight title which he won in a clash against Jackson Osei Bonsu (30-3-0, 23 ÊÎs) last July.
