European light heavyweight champion Jürgen Brähmer (33-2, 27 KOs) needed just 83 seconds to annihilate mandatory challenger Antonio Brancalion (32-7-2, 8 KOs) on Saturday night at the König Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen. Brähmer, who is again rated WBA #1 contender, dropped Brancalion in the first few seconds and four times total in round one before the fight was waved off by referee Terry O’Connor. Brancalion entered at #11 in the WBA rankings. Euro king Brähmer is taking aim at a return match with WBA world champion Hugo Garay.
