Moreno, Sidorenko comments!

4 May 2009 00:58       hits 3563 Print version

“We had prepared very intensely and wanted to prevent a close result and win. We have done this,” said WBA bantamweight world champion Anselmo Moreno after his split decision win over former champion Wladimir Sidorenko on Saturday night. “I am very satisfied. Wladimir fought hard – if it is wished, I’m open to a third fight!” Trainer Michael Timm represented the deeply disappointed Sidorenko at the press conference: “Moreno had to show something and for me he didn’t win the fight. Wladimir made the fight and won clearly. He hunted Moreno around the ring and Moreno was only in reverse gear. I can’t add any more – we are very disappointed!”

Double world champion Ina Menzer: “It was our tactical strategy to box at a distance. I tried to do this throughout the whole fight. With the execution and the clear victory these tactics has been validated. We are satisfied. I am delighted about this week here in Bremen and thank everyone who supported me so fantastically – thanks Bremen!”

Trainer Michael Timm: “Ina took no heavy shots and didn’t take unnecessary risks. With the lefts and the special rights she made the fight. She executed our tactics fantastically!”

Franchesca Alcanter: “After almost a one year break, I’m satisfied with the ten rounds I fought. I did a good job, but Ina is just a world class boxer and I respect her great good performance.”

Promoter Dietmar Poszwa: “We’re very satisfied with the promotion. After a good ten years, we have again had a Universum fight evening here in Bremen and everything ran very well. This “Universum Champions Night” and the great resonance in all areas does whet our appetite for more – we want to come more often to Bremen!”
