Williams punishes Wright!

In a battle of two boxers billed as boxing’s most avoided fighters, two-division world champion Paul “The Punisher” Williams (37-1, 27 KOs) punished former unified junior middleweight world champion Winky Wright (51-5-1, 25 KOs) on over twelve one-sided rounds Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Williams’ punch output and pressure easily overwhelmed the defensive skills of Wright from the opening bell. Scores were 119-109, 119-109, 120-108.

In the co-feature, unbeaten heavyweight Cristobal “The Nightmare” Arreola (27-0, 24 KOs) impressively outslugged former world title challenger Jameel “Big Time” McCline (39-10-3, 23 KOs), winning by fourth round knockout. A big right hand finished the job at 2:01. Tony Weeks counted McCline out. Arreola retains the NABF heavyweight title.

USA Olympian super middleweight Shawn Estrada (4-0, 4 KOs) scored a third round TKO over Omar Coffi (1-2-2). Time was :47. Estrada knocked down Coffi once in the first and twice in the second before Coffi’s corner threw in the towel in the third.

Undefeated junior welterweight Danny Garcia (12-0, 7 KOs) took a one-sided eight rounder against Humberto Tapia (14-10-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 79-73 twice, 80-72.

Jr middleweight Jose Rodriguez (13-1-1, 2 KOs) won a ten round majority decision over Juan Pablo Montes de Oca (9-15-2, 6 KOs) by scores of 95-95, 98-92, 96-94.

Middleweight Craig McEwan (14-0, 9 KOs) crushed Alexis Division (16-9, 13 KOs) in a first round KO. A brutal double left hook to the body and head dropped Division at 1:49 in round one.

Jr welterweight Michael Dallas Jr (7-0-1, 1 KO) defeated Terrance Jett (4-13-2, 2 KOs) via unanimous dec. (40-36, 40-35 twice). Dallas dominated throughout and was very close to a KO victory in the 4th and final round.

Featherweight Rico Ramos (9-0, 5 KOs) outpointed Gino Escamillia (5-5-1, 2 KOs) via unanimous dec. (58-56 twice and 59-55)

Junior lightweight Juan Dominguez (4-0, 2 KOs) halted Ramon Flores (3-5-1, 3 KOs) via TKO at 2:10 in the 1st.
