On March 21st in «Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Halle», Stuttgart, Germany on the undercard of Klitschko – Gomez WBC heavyweight title clash Alexander Ustinov (14-0, 12 KOs) of «K2 East Promotions» promotional company will face American Danny Batchelder (25-6-1, 12 KOs) in a non-title fight.
Less than two weeks ago Ustinov won vacant EBA (European Boxing Association) heavyweight title by stopping Maksym Pedyura, an aggressive Ukrainian puncher from Krivoy Rog, in round 5. Thanks to this victory it is expected that soon Alexander will join top 15 fighters in WBA rankings. Now Ustinov is the hottest heavyweight prospect of «K2 East» and his promoters plan to organize a world title bout for him in the coming year or a year and a half.
32-year-old Danny Batchelder started his boxing career in 1996 as a super middleweight fighter and for some time was considered as a hot prospect of the division, however, he moved up continuing his lucky streak. As a light heavyweight he defeated strong David Lopez, in cruiserweight division Batchelder defeated former world champion Arthur Williams. As a heavyweight he fought James Toney who managed to won that hard fight by split decision only.
But on the other hand Danny Batchelder has lost five of his last six bouts.
However, taking into consideration the fact that Ustinov will fight in less than a month after his previous bout the clash with Batchelder may become the sternest test so far for the giant from Belarus.
