Heavyweight Matt Skelton (22-2, 19 KOs) claimed the vacant European heavyweight championship with a ninth round stoppage of former Olympic medalist Paolo Vidoz (25-6, 14 KOs) on Friday night at the famed Palalido, Milan, Lombardia, Italy. Vidoz did not come out for round ten. In other action, jr welterweight Gianluca Branco (42-2-1, 22 KOs) retained his Euro title with a ninth round TKO of Juho Tolppola (21-5-1, 9 KOs) and jr welterweight Giuseppe Lauri (47-6, 28 KOs) retained his EU belt with a sixth round stoppage against previously unbeaten Ville Piispanen (12-1-1, 4 KOs).
