In his first fight in nearly four years, 37-year-old former world champ Vitali Klitschko (36-2, 35 KOs) joined his brother Wladimir as reigning world champion, regaining the WBC title with a one-sided eighth round TKO over Sam Peter (30-2, 23 KOs) on Saturday night at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany.
The much taller Klitschko kept Peter at bay with his long reach in round one, cracking Peter with some hard rights. As the bout progressed, Vitali continued to strafe Peter from long range keeping his mouth open and his hands dangerously low, however Peter had little success reaching him. Klitschko swept the first four rounds as announced by the WBC's open scoring and continued to batter Peter mercilessly until a frustrated and clueless Peter quit after eight rounds.
