Turkish national hero Sinan Samil Sam (31-3-1, 16 KOs) and Paolo Vidoz (25-4-1, 14 KOs) battled to a twelve round draw in a battle for the vacant European heavyweight title on Friday night at the Bueyuek Anadolu Hotel in Ankara, Turkey. Sam pressed the action and landed the heavier shots, but Vidoz' quick hands scored, as well. Sam closed strongly, having his best round in the twelfth. Both fighters had previously held the title, which remains vacant.

In the co-feature, WBC International Herbie Hide (44-4, 41 KOs) outpointed Nuri Seferi (21-6, 15 KOs) over twelve. Hide, a former WBO heavyweight champion before moving to cruiserweight, was knocked down early in round one, but the "Dancing Destroyer" recovered and outboxed Seferi over the rest of the way. Scores were 117-112 119-110, 117-111.
