Unbeaten WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (33-0, 29 KOs) and Gary Lockett (30-1, 21 KOs) faced off at today's press conference at Gallaghers Steak House in New York City. Pavlik stated, "I'm prepared to go 12 rounds. I just predict a W. Lockett commented, "I have a great chance of winning...may the best man win." They meet in an HBO-televised bout on Saturday in Atlantic City. Also on hand were WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (34-1, 30 KOs) and Juan Manuel Lopez (21-0, 19 KOs), who meet in the televised opener. "I'm going to give everything in the ring," promised the champion. "I'll give all that I have." 'Juanma' promised, "On Saturday you're going to have a new champion from Puerto Rico!"
