Heavyweight Danny Williams has accused promoter Ahmet Öner of personally ringing the bell early to save his fighter Konstantin Airich during a controversial sixth round in Bilbao, Spain on Friday night. "I had the guy hurt in the sixth round, on the verge of knocking him out and then what happens? His own promoter stands up and rings the bell, halfway through the round," Williams told Setanta Sports News. "“I didn’t expect the opponent to fight as well as he did. He fought tremendous; I take my hat off to him. But I didn’t expect the referee to take so many points off me and to penalise me for everything. I’m definitely going to take it further because I can’t just think about myself. I’ve got to think about the British fighters who are going to attempt to go up against a German fighter on a German promoter’s bill. I’m very upset about it and I want something to be done for the sake of boxing."
